Release schedule

• Minor release: geant4-04-01, June 28th 2002
• Will include bug-fixes and minor developments
• No interface changes are allowed
• Major release: geant4-05-00, December 13th 2002

NOTES

• Additional patches may be distributed before or after release 4.1, as well as additional minor releases may be proposed after 4.1, depending on the amount of fixes or minor developments.
• We expect to publish as soon as possible expected developments planned for the scheduled releases.

Distribution of development releases (reference tags) - proposals

1. Determine a group of Beta testers (inside and outside the Collaboration) to whom distribute the source code for testing.
2. Make available the source code (no binaries) from Web for public use, with no guarantees and/or support.

In both cases, exclude from distribution critical developments involving intellectual property rights for publications not yet finalised.

Suggestions and recommendations...

• For Category Coordinators:
• Adopt Bonsai for submitting tags to STT
• Include as much precise description as possible concerning fixes/developments involved
• For STT:
• Introduce "bug-fix" flag in Bonsai to be added to the form for proposed tags
