  • Gareth Hughes has asked to withdraw from the UK Group.
  • Koichi Murakami, a member of UI working group, moved from Kyoto University to KEK.
  • Alessandro Brunengo and Elvio Di Salvo have asked to withdraw from the INFN Group.
  • Minutes of the previous TSB meeting have been approved.
  • Updated list of pending actions:
    • Closed actions:
      • 10.4 - 2 examples/applications have been proposed and people are working.
      • 9.6 - CLHEP 1.8 is expected to include HepMC, Geant4 example is available.
      • 13.2 is replaced by 18.9.
      • 15.6 - the proposal of flexible G4Exception have been sent to TSB.
      • 16.2 - the group have been established, S.Sadilov will report about first results next TSB.
      • 18.3 - done by WG coordinators.
      • 18.6 - meeting took place, the situation is clear.
      • 18.8 - will be no ObjectivityDB at Linux 7.2.
      • 18.10 - tool is there.
      • 18.11 - Tinderbox is available, LXR next week.
      • 18.14 - Proposal was received.
    • Updates:
      • 18.2 - 1 full time person will be enough, technical student will be assigned.
      • 18.7 - a proposal is circulated.
      • 18.12 - will be tutorials in Grand Sasso, schools in Spain and Japan.
    • New actions:
      • 19.1 - S.Sadilov in collaboration with others to report the status of work on statistical testing suite.
      • 19.2 - H.Kurashige to evaluate the request of H.Araujo on G4Scintillation problem.
      • 19.3 - J.Apostolakis to create a program of Geant4 workshop at CERN.
      • 19.4 - J.Apostolakis to report on bug fixing/new feature strategy for the next TSB.
      • 19.5 - G.Folger to investigate a possibility and resources required to distribute Geant4 via CD.
      • 19.6 - Representatives of LHC detectors to present information about number of subdetectors and materials for estimation constrains on cut per region.
  • New requirements
    • ATLAS group suggest to have alternative advance tool to scan detector geometry. It was pointed out, that in release 4.1, more advanced commands for detecting ovelapping regions are available. The stand-alone tool adopted by CMS in the IGUANA Framework is now available as an extended example.

Cuts per region

  • Presented proposal of Architecture Subgroup.
  • Constrain of the current proposal: only one set of cuts for each LogicalVolume.
  • Initialisation time and memory increase should be investigated.

Geant4 workshop

  • Date: 30 September - 4 October 2002
  • Location: CERN
  • Hands on project will be an application for HEP with visualisation and analysis - new HEP extended example.
  • First day for user presentations.
